Officer David Calabro

Q: What inspired you to become a police officer?
A: I enjoy helping people, and joining the State Police was a natural transition after spending five years in the army.
 
Q: What's your favorite thing about being an officer at North Allegheny?
 A: I enjoy the interactions with the faculty and the students.
 
Q: What was your favorite class/subject when you were in school?
A: History and Social Studies.
 
Q: What school did you attend? (Favorite Teacher?)
A: I attended Immaculate Conception for elementary/high school in Washington, PA, and Purdue University.  Gunther Rothenberg, a history professor at Purdue, was my favorite.
 
Q: What was your favorite food to eat at school lunch?
A: Grilled cheese. It’s not even close!
 
Q: Did you play a sport or participate in extracurricular activities while in school?
A: I participated in wrestling in high school and rowing in college.
 
Q: What do you like to do for fun when you're not at work?
 A: Jiu-jitsu and motorcycle racing.
 
Q: Do you have any pets?
 A: I have a Karelian Bear dog named Ringo and a stray cat my daughters found in Las Vegas named Lucipurr.
 
Q: What's the most important thing you want kids to know about safety?
 A: I want students to know that we can all contribute. If you see something wrong, please tell a trusted adult.
 
Q: What's your favorite way to connect with students at North Allegheny?
 A: Playing sports on the playground.
