    Study Guide for Personal Fitness Unit – 2nd Grade

    P.E. Standard: 10.4.3.C  Explain and identify changes of body responses to changes in physical activity.

                              10.1.3.B  Identify and know the location and function of the major body organs and systems.

     

     

    DIRECTIONS: Please review the following information with your child for our

    Health and Physical Education quiz. 

    The quiz for 2nd grade will be worth 10 points.

     

    ALL STUDENTS SHOULD UNDERSTAND:

     

    • Muscles cause your body to move.
    • The Skeleton/Bones support and protect your body.
    • Running, biking and playing cause your heart to beat faster.
    • You should be physically active for at least 60 minutes a day.
    • As my bodies muscles work harder my heart and lungs work harder.
    • One of the best ways to stay healthy is to live an active lifestyle.
    • A warm up is done before skill work and game play to prepare your body for activity.
    • A cool down lowers your heart rate and breathing after skill work and game play.
    • The order of a work out is warm up, skill work/game play and a cool down.
