• Elementary Summer Reading Suggestions

    The best predictor of school success is the amount of time spent reading and enjoying books. Experts note that most young readers suffer a backslide in reading skills during summer downtime. But that needn't be the case. Families can make reading a priority during the summer months, and children will learn that people never take a vacation from learning. Here are some great resources that may help your child enjoy a summer that make time for learning!

    2019 Summer Reading will run from June 3-August 3. There will be programs and activities for summer readers of all ages...and all  you need is your very own library card!

      Barnes Noble  
    The Barnes & Noble Summer Reading Program is here to help encourage you to read this summer! Students in grades 1-6 can earn a FREE book, simply by following these three easy steps:

    Read any eight books this summer and record them in your Summer Reading Journal (English or Español). Tell us which part of the book is your favorite!

    Bring your completed journal to a Barnes & Noble store between August 1 and August 31, 2019. Find a Store

    Choose your FREE book from the book list featured in the journal. 

    There are also reading events for younger siblings as well as for teens and adults!
