CONSTRUCTION & MEETING UPDATES

June 15, 2022

The NASD High School Assessment and Feasibility Study has progressed through the Existing Facility Assessment Phase. Draft summaries have been provided to the NASD Steering Committee for review and discussion. Those include:

• draft assessments of
  • the existing NAI and NASH sites.
  • general building and plumbing/HVAC and electrical systems.
  • the NASH aquatics facilities.
• draft assessment & summaries of
  • teaching staff and student representative questionnaires.
  • meeting discussions with Central Administration, Building Administration, instructional leaders, and students related to the current and future NASD facilities, educational programming, and spatial needs.
• an updated NASD enrollment projection analysis and related future facility needs.

June 8, 2022

On June 8, 2022, the team at Weber Murphy Fox (WMF) presented its preliminary findings of its assessment of North Allegheny Intermediate High School and Senior High School. The presentation can be found here and includes an overview of the WMF team’s initial assessment of both schools from a structural and functional point of view. The Steering Committee will meet over the summer to review the assessment and align on a project approach.

April 14, 2022

• Create a steering committee to work with the Weber Murphy Fox team during the course of the study.
• Establish a tentative schedule outlining the major dates and tasks.
• A questionnaire will be sent to high school staff and student representatives to gain additional insight and background information. The questionnaire will be open from April 18-24, 2022.
• High school facility assessments were conducted the week of April 11. These assessments gathered information related to existing conditions of the high school facilities.
• Existing aquatic facilities evaluations and discussions are ongoing.

• April 8 and April 15
  • This spring, the District will begin to analyze the aging infrastructure at our high school campuses with the goal of creating a plan forward for North Allegheny. In March, the NASD School Board of Directors approved a third-party vendor to develop an assessment of the District’s high school facilities.

    Throughout this process, our North Allegheny School District community will receive ongoing updates via email in weekly newsletters. Additionally, the District will provide updates on our website at northallegheny.org/BuildingsAndGrounds
