    • REVEIW MATH FACTS: ROCKET MATH OR REFLEX MATH

MATH WILL BE  CONTINUED INTO TOMORROW:

***I WOULD SUGGEST USING A SEPARATE SHEET OF PAPER TO DRAW THE TENS AND ONES IF NEEDED (THERE WILL BE MORE ROOM FOR YOUR FIRST GRADER TO DRAW). MOST OF THE STUDENTS WILL NEED HELP WITH THIS- REMEMBER YOU HAVE TWO DAYS TO COMPLETE THIS LESSON.
    • --I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE PRACTICE AND HOMEWORK PAGE FOR LESSON 8.5 (WHEN YOU CAN GET TO IT). EVEN IF IT IS A FEW DAYS FROM NOW.

**In Title GO MATH CHAPTER 8 IN GC, I have added OTHER REVIEW ITEMS for your child to do in the next few weeks. YOU MAY WANT TO HAVE YOUR CHILD DO THE LESSONS IN THE INTERACTIVE STUDENT EDITION AND THE PERSONAL MATH TRAINER, too.

    • WATCH BrainPOPJr. video SPRING
    • On your walk today or tomorrow find as many signs of spring that you can. Optional: make a list of them.

    • I would like you to adopt a tree in your yard that goes through changes in springtime...(maybe you can find one that hasn't changed much since it's dormant (resting winter stage). Find one today (or if it is raining, maybe tomorrow)

    • Make some observations. Draw what it looks like and write a few sentences to describe it. This should be a very fun activity to continue in the coming weeks because you should see many changes. NOTE: When do we really have the chance to watch a tree change? Maybe you can create a journal and watch your tree for several weeks. I adopted our pear tree and I will be doing the same. I have not actually taken time on a daily basis to watch one particular tree go through it's changes, but I am looking forward to doing so now.

    • Fill in your weather chart today.  GC
