    Dr. Christopher began his teaching career in 1996 as a teacher in the Huntingdon Area School District. In 2008, he became an elementary principal in the Juniata Valley School District. In the next year, he was promoted to senior high principal and K-12 director of curriculum of the Juniata Valley School District. In 2011, he was appointed to acting superintendent while continuing to maintain his role as the senior high principal. Dr. Christopher was appointed as the superintendent of schools for the Juniata Valley School District in 2012.

    Dr. Christopher's accomplishments include being selected by the Pennsylvania Department of Education as a workgroup member for Data, Educator Evaluation, and the ESSA authorization plan. In addition, Dr. Christopher served on the Act 1 Steering Committee at the Pennsylvania Department of Education, which made recommended changes to the Keystone Exam graduation requirement to the Pennsylvania State Legislature. Many of these recommendations were put into SB 1095 of 2018, which substantially changed Keystone Exam requirements for graduation in Pennsylvania. Dr. Christopher currently serves on the Pennsylvania Association for School Administrators Technology Advisory Committee and Resolutions Committee.

    Dr. Christopher graduated from Juniata College with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education. He completed coursework in Instructional Systems from Penn State University and has a Master of Education in Educational Leadership and Policy from Shippensburg University. Dr. Christopher received his Educational Doctorate from the Millersville University/Shippensburg University Joint Ed.D. program in 2018.
