About Mrs. Lewis

Mrs. Tara Lewis began her music study at the age of four, when she began playing the violin (or fiddle, as she prefers!). Throughout her early years of learning, she studied both the classical Suzuki approach, as well as various folk and fiddling styles. She is a 5 time Pennsylvania State fiddling champion and has taught various workshops throughout the United States and Canada. She graduated from Grove City College in 2008 with a Bachelor of Science in Music Education. In 2010, she earned a M.A.L.S. with a concentration in Appalachian, Scottish and Irish Studies from East Tennessee State University. Prior to working at Marshall Elementary School, she was a Professor of Traditional Music at Morehead State University and also taught General Music and Beginning Strings at Ashland Independent School District in Ashland, KY.

Mrs. Lewis enjoys spending time with her daughter and husband, cooking, traveling and going to concerts.
