Miss Allison Long

Miss Long is so excited to be at North Allegheny School District Originally from the Philadelphia side of the state, she received her Bachelors Degree in Music Education and Clarinet Performance from Penn State University in 2015. While at Penn State, Miss Long performed with the Marching Blue Band, Symphonic Wind Ensemble, Symphony Orchestra, Outer Dimensions Jazz Band, and Clarinet Choir. Some of her favorite performances include: the Outback Bowl in Clearwater Beach, FL and Alice Tully Hall at The Lincoln Center in New York City!

During her undergraduate degree, Miss Long enlisted in the United States Air Force as a member of the ANG Band of the Northeast. She performs regularly as a clarinetist with the Concert Band and Marching Band, and as a baritone saxophonist with the High Altitude Rock Band. Her favorite military performances include the 2017 Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena, CA and the Midwest Band and Orchestra Clinic in Chicago, IL.   Miss Long did graduate work at the University of Delaware as the Athletic Band TA. She co-directed the basketball pep band and worked closely with the UD Marching Band.

Prior to coming to North Allegheny, Miss Long was a Long Term Substitute, teaching 4th, 5th, and 6th grade band in Seneca Valley School District. She loves working with young learners to help set a solid musical foundation and works to instill a lifelong love for learning in all of her students.

Outside of school, Miss Long enjoys running, yoga, attending sporting events, cooking, and spending time with her family!
