Drinks- Students are allowed to bring a drink from home each day.  Your child may bring in water, milk, or juice.  Their drink can be disposable or in a reusable thermos / water bottle.  Please do not send in soda/pop or large sports drinks, or large juice bottles.  I have a cooler in the classroom to help keep their drink cool.  There is also a water fountain in our classroom if your child forgets their drink.  Please label your child's drink and check to make sure it does not leak!

Super Star Student– Your child will be assigned a week that they share information and pictures with the class.  The schedule will be sent home at the beginning of the year.  The students really look forward to their special week in the spotlight!  This activity helps foster self-confidence and promotes speaking skills, but if a student is nervous or hesitant to share their information, I am always there to help them out and guide them along whle they share.  The Star Student envelope will be sent home a week before their date.

Super Sack – This will be sent home with your child to promote speaking skills.  The child gives the class 3 clues for what is hidden inside the cotton drawstring bag.  Please practice the clues with your child at home, and feel free to write them on a piece of paper to tuck inside the bag.  Our Super Sack rules are nothing alive, breakable, or edible!

Celebrations/Borrowed Birthdays– In order to make everyone feel special, we will celebrate birthdays in school.   Due to our Health and Wellness Policy, all birthday treats must be a NON FOOD item.   If your child has a birthday in the summer, we will celebrate summer birthdays on a date at the end of the school year, which will be announced in the spring.

Book Clubs – We send home monthly book clubs for you to look at and possibly buy.  The easiest way to order is by placing your order online.  Our class activation code is:  H8VZT If you choose to use the form to order, please send in the form with your selections clearly marked and a CHECK made out to Scholastic.  NO CASH.

Monthly Newsletters – Each month your child’s teacher will send home a newsletter explaining the month’s activities and the list of the parent volunteers.  Parent volunteers should arrive at 9:30 AM or 1:30 PM.  Plan to stay for the rest of your child's school day.

Parent-Teacher Conferences– Conferences will be held in November and May.  You will receive an email from Sign Up Genius to sign up online for conferences.  Please be advised that school may be in session for some of the conference days.

Report Cards– We will give out report cards in January and June. Report cards are sent digitally, so you will need to sign up through the Student Data Portal in order to access your child's report card.  The link to the Student Data Portal is in the top right corner of the NA website.  Paper copies will not be sent home.
