•  Assignment: 

    1. Part 1 (Day 1)  Begin a new song in garageband by clicking on the + sign in the song browser.
     
    2. Make sure you select TRACKS at the top, then select Keyboard-Alchemy Synth- Grand Piano
     
    3. To slow the tempo, click on the wrench icon, and slow the tempo down to a speed that is comfortable to play.
     
    4. Follow the instructions to find the hand position to play the melody to Jingle Bells

    Part 2-
     
    You will be using smart instruments to add a backing track to your song.
     
    There should be at least 3 smart instruments- USE ONLY ACOUSTIC INSTRUMENTS!
     
    Smart Drums
     
    Smart Bass
     
    Smart acoustic guitar
     
    A. From Track view, select the new track icon located next to My Songs at the top of the screen.
        Choose smart drums, and create a pattern- hit record and record your drum track.
     
    B. Go back to track view, and select smart guitar or bass.
         Make sure your cusor is at measure 1.  Use the music above to hit the chord at the beginning of each measure.
         Record your track.
    C. Repeat for your other smart instrument.
     
    D. Go to track view, and click on the + sign and change the number of measures to 16.
     
    E. Making sure the cursor is set to measure nine, select each track, double tap, select copy, and paste into the second 8 measures.
     
    F. Select the Grey tab on the left hand side of track view, and adjust the instrument volumes so that each part can be heard, with the melody loudest.
     
    DONE!  Turn in on Blackboard as an audio file. You must export to Google Drive first- then in Blackboard click on "Browse My Computer"- select Google Drive, and turn in for a grade.
     
    ONCE YOU ARE FINISHED, FEEL FREE TO PLAY WITH YOUR SONG, TRY DIFFERENT INSTRUMENTS, OR TRY OUT THE LOOPER- BE YOUR OWN DJ!
