• Rounding Rules:

      1.  Underline the digit you are rounding.  If you are rounding to the nearest ten, you should underline the digit in the tens column (etc.).

      2.  Draw your arrow from the underlined number to point to the next number (to the right).  Decide whether the number your pointing to is a keeper or bumper number.

    •  If the number is weaker keeper number, then keep the number that you underlined the same.   (0,1,2,3,4)
    •  If the number is stronger bumper number, then bump the number that you underlined up one.   (5,6,7,8,9)

     3.      Make all of the digits after it a zero.

**  If there are any digits before the underlined one, then they stay the same.

"Any number to the right (of the underlined digit) become ZEROS!"

"Any number to the left (of the underlined digit) stays the SAME!"
