SchoolSite Locator is a powerful tool that can be used to determine what school(s) students would attend when residing at a given address. It also has views of District and school boundaries, can provide driving directions, and more! This guide will walk you through the basics of using this resource and introduce you to the tools and features of SchoolSite Locator.
Please note: Students living in the Ridge Forest Plan located in Franklin Park will attend Marshall Elementary School.
Accessing SchoolSite Locator
You can access the SchoolSite Locator by visiting SchoolSiteLocator.com. When SchoolSite Locator opens, you will see the following image.
This page contains a District map, an address search box, tools, map types, and layers to view schools and school boundaries. You can move around and zoom in and out of the map by using your mouse (desktop) or your fingers (tablet or phone).
Schools are marked on the map with both their name and an icon as shown in the following image.
You can view different school boundaries (elementary school, middle school, or high school) by selecting the "boundaries" tab at the top-right corner.
Viewing which schools your child will attend
At the top of the screen, you will see a white search box.
Enter your full address, including the ZIP code. After your enter your address, hit the "Enter" button on your keyboard. You will be presented with a listing of the elementary school, middle schools, and high schools (NAI and NASH) that your child will attend while residing at the address entered.
Obtaining driving directions
After searching for your address, select the dropdown menu under the school name. Select "driving directions" from the dropdown menu.
You will be presented with both text-based and visual directions for driving to the selected school.
Using additional tools
Select the "Basemap" tab to customize the appearance of the District map.
Via the "Tools" tab at the top-right, you can view various tools for measuring distance on the map.
Also accessible from the "Tools" panel is the option to print your map.
