Community Connections Seminar

Community Connections Seminar

Topic: Nationwide Prescription and Heroin Epidemics that Extends into Western Pennsylvania and Our Community

April 5, 2017 — 7:00 p.m.
North Allegheny Intermediate High School

The North Allegheny School District Student Assistance Program (SAP) is sponsoring their annual Spring Community Connections Seminar geared for parent(s)/guardian(s) and students in grades 6-12. The seminar is open to the community free of charge.

The program will be highlighted by the Saltworks Theatre Company’s stage production of “Off 'Script,” a powerful and thought-provoking portrayal of three students who share their stories of addiction to prescription drugs, the consequences of their actions, and their journey to hope and healing.

Kelly Wesolosky, Community Outreach Specialist at the FBI Pittsburgh Field Office, will discuss the scope and magnitude of the problem as well as the efforts that Heroin Outreach Prevention and Education (HOPE) initiative has made to date. Several local substance abuse treatment centers and other community resources will be on hand to provide information and answer questions about their programs.

Advanced registration is recommended, but not required. Visit northallegheny.org/CommunityConnections to register.

For questions, please call the Student Assistance Office at 724-934-7260.
