Book Pick  for November 2006

Thank You, Sarah

My favorite book of the month, Thank You, Sarah:  The Woman Who Saved Thanksgiving by Laurie Halse Anderson.   This book will provide your child with some fascinating facts about how one writer's efforts were instrumental in helping Thanksgiving become a national holiday.  Sarah Hale helps youngsters consider vocabulary such as determination, prevail, persistent , and perseverance.  Matt Faulkner's illustrations are wonderful and easy explanations of idioms ,"on his mind" can be approached readily.

Highly recommended family reading!
