Administration Report:

Mrs. McGinnis will be retiring on January 19, 2007(her last day) and will be replaced by Candy Cravin from McKnight Elementary school. She has 25-26 years experiencing in the NASD.

Mrs. Cernicky will be on maternity leave for 9-12 weeks sometime in Feb and Mrs. Laurie Dower will be her replacement during that time.

Mrs. Channnel is due in Feb. Still in the process of finding her replacement. She will be out the rest of the year.

IOWA exams will be held Jan 29-Feb 2, 2007. All teachers’ schedules have been approved. Testing will be in the mornings with the 5th graders having one day in the afternoon. These are timed test which are different from the PSSA which are not.

There will be no homework during this time. Questions about due date of the 4th grade oral report Mrs. Bjalobk stressed the importance of not scheduling vacations and doctors appointments during this time.

There will be new locks installed in all the classrooms. These will be locks that can be locked on the inside as well as the outside. This is in compliance of making the building Crisis safe.

Mrs. Bjalobok thanked all the parents that helped in all the events of December.

Slide on the playground is broken. Do not know how it happened but that the District will take it down and cover up the area so that it is safe for $500.00. Discussed with PTA maybe the need to look into replacing it or adding something else (more swings) or even looking into a new playground set. If PTA chooses to do a new playground set, Mrs. Bjalobok can see if she can get a discount through the District and if they help install, it may help bring the cost down. Two picnic tables will be placed out by the playground for kids to sit and talk with friends.

Mrs. Bjalobok is planning on doing an after school program dealing with games and would like to do a craft class which would be a family event. She will look for time and schedule it in the future.

Replacement of the wood on the Picnic tables will be done in the spring hopefully, in time for the art show.
