Orientation Information

A Parent/Student Orientation will be held on Thursday, August 21st, beginning with our annual Activities Fair in Tiger Hall starting after the presentation in the auditorium.  Come meet the students involved in NAI activities, receive the new organization handbook and learn how to get involved with school life!

Parking is available in the lot between McKnight Elementary and NAI and in the lot behind NAI.

A meeting for all ninth graders and all NEW tenth graders will begin in the auditorium at 10:00 a.m. You will meet the principals, guidance counselors, and Student Council members.  After this orientation, students will be assigned to a classroom where sophomore students will offer tips for taking advantage of all the opportunities at NAI, navigating the building and successfully handling the first week of school.  Please be sure to bring the student schedule you received in this mailing.  Time will be allotted for students to walk through the building and become familiar with the location of their classes.  Student guides will be available to assist you.

Students will receive bus assignments in the mail about August 20th.  If you have any questions regarding your bus stop or time, please call the transportation department at 412-369-5500.  The warning bell at NAI rings at 7:25 a.m., and the starting class bell at 7:30 a.m.  It is extremely important that students arrive on time for their first period class.  School is dismissed at 2:20 p.m.  Buses load both in the front and back of the building.  This information will be posted in numerous locations the first day of school.

NAI students beginning their day at NASH will receive information from the bus garage identifying the bus they will ride to the Senior High.  On the first day of school, report to your first period class at NASH.  Your bus transportation from NASH to NAI will depart promptly at
