Academie De Paris

The Academie is a residential summer program from July 3-August 8h.  Seventeen courses to choose from in the fields of architecture, philosophy, international law and photography.  www.oxbridgeprograms.com

                                               

Alfred University

Spend a week on this college campus and attend one of their summer institutes.  Studies include:  Astronomy, Art & Design, Creative Writing, and Entrepreneurial Leadership, the 48 hour Challenge, Math, Science and Engineering. Andrew’s Leap at CMU

Spend five weeks in the world renowned Computer Science Dept. at CMU.  Only thirty students are accepted to this summer program that exposes student to the frontiers of computer science.  For acceptance you must take the Interesting Test administered in February 5, 13, 22, or 26th.  Call 412-268-5099 Kathy McNiff to register for the test.    Cost = $2500 and scholarships are available.  June 27th – August 5th   http://cs.cmu.edu/~leap/

 

Barnard Pre-College Program in New York

Boston University Summer Challenge Program

A six week Honors program runs from July 4 – August 12.  They also have two sessions of their Summer Challenge for high school freshmen, sophomores and juniors.  These are costly programs.  Check their web site for more information.  http://www.bu.edu/summer/programs

 

Boston Conservatory

Busch Gardens/SeaWorld

Cambridge Prep Experience

Clemson University

Columbia University

Will you be a sophomore next year?  Live in New York City for 3 weeks and attend a session on Understanding the Arts, Creative Writing, Approaches to Reading and Writing, The Media and Politics, and An Introduction to Creative Writing.  Session II focus on computer design and writing.   Columbia also has a college prep program.  www.columbia.edu

The Curie Academy for Girls Who Dream Big—an Engineering Adventure   July 9-16, 2005

                Female math and science scholars who will be juniors or seniors in fall 2005 should consider this one week, residential program. Cornell Summer College for Sophomores

Junior Statesmen

High school students are offered an advanced academic program through the Junior Statesman Summer School sessions at Georgetown University in Washington D.C., Stanford University in California, Yale University in Connecticut, and the University of Texas at Austin. The rigorous curriculum, taught by outstanding university professors, focuses on American Government, leadership, public speaking, and debate.
Admission to the Summer Schools is competitive and is based on the applicant's academic achievements and demonstrated leadership ability.
Symposiums on politics and government are conducted each summer in Southern and Northern California and in the states of Washington and Idaho. The California Symposia examine the politics of local government, while the Washington and Idaho Symposia focus on state government and politics. Spend three weeks in Palo Alto, California to attend the Creative Writing Discovery Institute, Philosophy Discovery Institute, Theatre Discovery Institute or Environmental Studies Institute.  Applications and recommendations are due by April 15th.  Be a DOER!  Draft a first novel, direct a theater production, debate the meaning of life, and develop a plan to help the environment!  Cost is $3-4600 including 3-6 units of Stanford credit.  Lincoln Douglas Policy Debate and National Forensic Institute.
