 Have you ever wondered what really goes on backstage for productions?  This is an amazing opportunity to actually get to take part in workshops such as: Stage Combat, Costumes, Hair/Make-Up, Lighting and Theater Critics.
     On January 29, 2007 the GOAL Department will take 20 students only to a downtown theater and they will spend the day learning some of the secrets of the stage.  Experts in all of the areas listed above will guide students through actual, hands-on opportuniText Box: ties.
     This event fills up very fast so hurry to register now!
     Last year, students had their hair and makeup done to look like actual characters in various musicals.  One student was actually made up to look like a Geisha and another student looked like a very old man.
Students actually practiced with various stage weapons and learned the correct form to use to make it look as real as possible.
Text Box: exhibition to represent a history of the Nazi biological state.  More than 200 artifacts, 200 photographs and photographic reproductions as well as survivor testimony are included in the exhibition.

     You will need to sign up in the GOAL Office right away for the February 7, 2007 Shakespeare Monologue Contest.  You will also need to select a scene or monologue that you wish to present.  But, don’t worry, real actors will be available to coach on January 31st.  You will also get any assistance that you believe that you might need from your Text Box: GOAL teachers who are always available. 
      Seriously consider stepping out of that box and begin trying new things for 2007.  You don’t want to look back years from now and think “ If only I’d tried that”.
Text Box:      This could be your year to take to the stage and possibly become famous!  This yearly event is one of the most fulfilling experiences if you have the acting bug or just wish to be in the spotlight one time in your life.
     Please, take a few minutes and think of how great you’d feel and how much fun that you would have rehearsing and sharing the stage with Text Box: To be, or not to be, that is a question: Whether ‘tis nobler in the mind to suffer The slings and arrows of outrageous fortune, 
Or to take arms against a sea of troubles
