The Marshall Elementary PFA Proudly Presents the

MES AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM

Winter, 2009

Help beat the after school “blahs” as this cold, snowy winter melts into spring by joining us for the MES After School Program!   Classes will run for six weeks on Tuesdays and Thursdays this session, beginning Tuesday, February 24th and ending Thursday, April 2nd.  An After School Program Registration form may be found at the end of this packet following a brief description of the classes being offered.  Please return this form and all fees associated with the course(s) your child would like to enroll in by Friday, February 13, 2009.

Classes will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.  Classes will fill up quickly, so please register early!  Registration forms will be collected daily from the office at 10 AM.  In the event that a number of registration forms are received in one day causing the maximum class size to be exceeded, a lottery will be held from that day's registrants only to select the final class members.  In order to allow as many students as possible to enroll in desired classes, children will need to rank their class choices.  Your child may wish to attend the program both Tuesdays and Thursdays.  If this is the case, be sure to circle yes or no where indicated.  Class confirmation notices will be sent home with students after the registration period closes.

Please remember to fill out one registration form per child.  Extra forms are available in the MES front office.  Please put all registration materials in an envelope clearly marked “PFA AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAMS” and return the materials to your child’s teacher.  Please do not combine this form with any other PFA information.  Please pay by check made payable to Marshall Elementary PFA.  Please do not send cash!  It is very helpful to write a separate check for each child and each activity/course selected.  In the event that a class is cancelled or filled, your check can then be returned to you easily.

Scholarships are available to sponsor children who otherwise may not be able to participate in the After School Program.  Parents may speak confidentially to Dr. Bradley to register those children.

Finally, In order to make our After School Program successful, we need to enlist your help as a Program volunteer.  Volunteers are needed to check children into the program after school, to monitor the classes as they are run, and also to check children out on their way home.  Please indicate which day(s) of the program you will be able to stay and help at the bottom of the registration form.

The MES PFA is looking forward to another fun session of After School classes this winter!  If you have any questions about the After School Program or you need more information, please contact Ann Helgerman at (724) 935-8498 or helgerman1@comcast.net.
