McKnight Elementary School Below are the courses and activities being offered to students as part of the PFA-sponsored After School Program. Classes are designed to be informative as well as fun. Transportation is not provided, so parents will need to make arrangements for student pick-up promptly at class dismissal. Please plan to form a carpool lane in front of the school. Instructors will walk the students out to the lane after class. Also, you may want to consider sending a small snack with your student since he/she will have an extended day. Summary class listings are arranged by day of the week on which they are offered. Please read each listing carefully as classes vary in number of weeks, fees, start date, and grade level. All materials costs are included in the class fee. The full descriptions can be viewed on the McKnight School Web site. A limited number of hard copies will be available by asking the school office.
If your child is interested in taking a class, please complete the enrollment form and have your child return it to his/her homeroom teacher along with a separate check for each class. Please paper clip the check to the registration form and indicate the name of the class in the memo field. Registrations may also be left in the After School Box in the McKnight office. Checks are payable to McKnight PFA. If you need financial assistance, contact Mr. Parks. Please list a 1st and 2nd choice and be sure to include your child’s name and room on the enrollment form. Students will be enrolled in their first choice on a first come, first served basis and there will be a waiting list when a class fills. We will check the box once a day during the registration period and forms will be dated on the day they are received. Registration ends on Friday, December 3, 2009. You will receive a confirmation the first week in January. If a class is cancelled because there are not enough students registered, your check for that class will be returned. Finally, please keep in mind that taking part in these classes is a privilege. Students are reminded that standards for classroom behavior also apply to the After School Program.
