Early Admission to Kindergarten and First Grade

 

Kindergarten

Students must be five (5) years old as of September 1 of the school year.

Students born after September 1 or on or before October 31 are eligible for early admission testing.

Students participating in early admission testing must earn a Mental Age score of 6-0 on the Wechsler preschool and Primary Scale of Intelligence - III or the Stanford-Binet Intelligence Scales - 5th Edition to be eligible to enter kindergarten.  Testing for early admission is available through the Psychological Services Department at no cost to the parent or by an approved Certified School Psychologist outside of the District at the parent's expense.

Students born after October 31 of a given school year are not eligible for early admission testing.

Students who have attended a kindergarten program and whose birth date falls between September 1 and October 31 must meet the early admission requirements as stated above.

First Grade

Students must be six (6) years old as of September 1 of the school year.

Students born after September 1 or on or before October 31 are eligible for early admission testing.
