The Parent-Faculty Association (PFA) is a working organization that provides volunteers and funds for programs that enhance the educational opportunities offered to our children. We are not a lobbying group, nor do we direct any of the administrative activities of the school. Instead, we provide support services to all students at BWE through committees, whose activities and programs are approved by the school principal. Speakers and assemblies, field trips, playground and building supplies, homeroom parties, scholarships, staff appreciation, birthday books, the publishing center and child check are just some of the services provided or assisted by the PFA organization. We urge every family to join the PFA. Our annual membership drive takes place in the fall. Membership dues are $10.00 per family.
Parent Volunteers are just that...parents volunteering their time, skill, and talent to provide help to our teaching staff and students at Bradford Woods. Parent Volunteers can help in many areas: in the classroom, with special building projects, in the library, the K-5 computer classes, or the publishing center. Parent Volunteers may even offer classroom support by working at home. Any amount of time is appreciated!
As you can see from the links below, the PFA at Bradford Woods is very active and provides plenty of opportunities to get involved and contribute to your school. If you are interested in joining any of these committees or have any questions about the PFA, please e-mail the PFA Co Presidens, Sharon Cannella, at smcanddkids@yahoo.com or Lynn Kovalchik, at lynnkovalchik@comcast.net or contact any other PFA officer. Our meetings are held once a month, on a Tuesday, except December, at 9:15 a.m. in the LGI Room at Bradford Woods Elementary. We encourage everyone, whether serving on a committee or not, to attend the PFA meetings. This is your organization. It is your way to become a part of your school community, to make friends, and to make a difference for your children.
