Joy M. Gaetano, SPHR Joy M. Gaetano, SPHR, has over 20 years' experience as a human resource professional. She began her career in executive search and progressed into generalist, benefits and compensation and senior human resource leadership roles. Ms. Gaetano served as the chief HR officer for several private and public global corporations prior to joining North Allegheny. During her corporate tenure, she led HR due diligence activities for over 100 company mergers, acquisitions and divestitures. Ms. Gaetano has designed and implemented strategic plans in the areas of: employee/labor relations; health, welfare and retirement benefits; and employee recruitment, retention and development. She has established company policy and procedures, implemented governance and compliance programs and developed extensive employee communications programs. Ms. Gaetano has also been in private practice, providing effective HR solutions on both strategic and operational levels to client companies in both private and non-profit sectors. Ms. Gaetano received a B.A. in Psychology and Social Work from Youngstown State University and an M.S. in Social Administration from Case Western Reserve University. She holds her Senior Professional in Human Resources certification from the HR Certification Institute (HRCI). Ms. Gaetano has held volunteer leadership positions with the Society for Human Resource Management, including serving on its Employee and Labor Relations Committee and Ethics Panel.
