Frank Velasquez, Jr.

BIOGRAPHY

Frank Velasquez Jr. is 38 years old and the Owner/President of the  3Rivers Athletic Development, LLC and the current Strength and Conditioning Coordinator for the Pittsburgh Pirates Baseball Club (finishing his 7th season with the organization). Frank was born in Bay City, Michigan spending the first 10 years of his life there before moving to Three Rivers, MI when his father's job (with General Motors)
was transferred there. Frank went on to graduate from Three Rivers High School in 1989. Frank is a '93 Graduate from the University of Michigan (BS Kinesiology). While at the U of M he worked/studied as a student athletic trainer on the staffs of many of the Wolverines athletic teams. Frank was a part of 2 Big Ten Football Championship teams that went on to win the 1991 Gator Bowl and 1993 Rose Bowl. He has been working in Professional Baseball since 1996, starting as a minor league athletic trainer (Texas Rangers Organization '96-'99), minor league strength & conditioning coordinator (Texas Rangers Organization '00-'02) and major league strength & conditioning coordinator (Pittsburgh Pirates
'03-present). Frank also has 5 years (plus) of experience working in the arena of out-patient physical therapy (rehabilitation of injuries and sports performance enhancement). Frank has a wealth of experience in training persons of all ages in the areas of athletic development and
overall wellness. His hobbies include spending time with my family, working in the yard and taking care of his overall well being (jogging, exercising, etc). He has run and completed 3 marathons in his life thus far. Frank is married to his wife (Carrie). They have a 3 year old son (Kaden) and reside in the north hills area of Pittsburgh.
