NA defeated second-place Butler, 82.5-67.5, to win the title. The Lady Tigers defeated Hempfield and Latrobe, both by scores of 112-38. It was a great meet for Markel who won both hurdles races and tied for first with Yon in the high jump. A sweep in the 3200 also helped as O'Brien took first, freshman Michelle Diez was second, and junior Katie Baxter captured third for NA. Appel won the 200 as the Lady Tigers were able to edge section rival Butler for the second straight year. It was a fitting victory for NA Coach Don Greenaway. The Tiger mentor was a long-time assistant to Hall of Fame Coach Chuck Sabatos and is retiring after three years as the Lady Tiger head coach. "I inherited some pretty good teams. I tried to keep a good thing going", said Greenaway. The Lady Tigers finished with a record of 13-0 in dual meets as they added a third straight championship for their coach.
