UBO SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS PROGRAM 2008-09 SCHOLARSHIP WINNERS

Winter Sports Scholarship - Kevin Kuntz (Swimming) * * * * * * * * * * * * * * 1. Georgiana Thomas Scholarship - $700 The Georgiana Thomas Scholarship was created to recognize a North Allegheny senior rostered-athlete/marching band member, who achieves academic excellence, displays leadership qualities, and makes a commitment to others through volunteer service to school and/or community. This is a one-time scholarship of $700.00. Eligibility Requirements: · Be a senior rostered-athlete/marching band member at North Allegheny High School. · Achieve a cumulative QPA of 3.4 or higher by the end of the first semester of your senior year. · Have not accepted a full tuition scholarship to a college or technical school. You may apply for this scholarship through each NA sport team/marching band for which you are a rostered member, however, you can only be selected as a candidate from one. Instructions: · Fill out the Scholarship Application (don’t forget the paragraph requirement listed at the bottom of the application). · Return the completed application to the UBO Representative for your sport/band on or before ____________. (Check with your UBO Rep for this date.) · In April, a review committee will then select 4 or 5 semi-finalists. · During the first week of May, the Interview Committee will interview semi-finalists. · On May 19, 2010 the recipient of the Georgiana Thomas Scholarship will be recognized at the UBO Meeting. The Tiger Scholarship - $500 The Tiger Scholarship was created to recognize a North Allegheny senior rostered-athlete/marching band member, who displays leadership qualities, and makes a commitment to others through volunteer service to school and/or community, while achieving a cumulative QPA of 2.0 to 3.39. This is a one-time scholarship of $500.00. A random drawing will be held and one student will be selected. 4. Winter Sports Season - $350 You must have a 3.4 or higher grade point average (GPA) for the second nine weeks reporting period while participating in a North Allegheny athletic program or cheerleading.
