School/Student/Parent Compact 2009-2010
School
: Peebles
Elementary School will provide high quality curriculum and instruction in a
supportive and effective learning environment that will enable success for every
student. The school and its staff will carry out the following:

Treat each child
and family with dignity and respect.
-
Strive to address
the needs of each student.
-
Acknowledge that
parents are vital to the success of this school and its students. Help
provide clear indications of expectations and direction for homework.
-
Provide a safe,
positive and healthy learning environment for each student.
-
Assure every
student access to quality learning experiences appropriate to their
development. Assure that school staff communicates clear expectations for
performance to both students and parents.

Provide ample
opportunities for contact with the Title I Reading Specialist including
phone, email, and conference contacts. Communicate with families any
questions, compliments, or concerns.

Offer activities
for families to use at home. These will include web based, and carry home
items for families to use to bolster their child’s reading and writing
success.
Parent:
I realize
the importance of working cooperatively with the school. I understand that my
participation in my child’s education will help his/her achievement and
attitude. Therefore, I join with Peebles Elementary School by carrying out the
following responsibilities to the best of my ability:
Monitor homework providing support as needed.

Use slow, steady
practice with consistency.

Read to, and with
my child to help them enjoy reading, practice skills, increase vocabulary
and increase fluency.

Communicate with
school staff any questions, compliments, or concerns.
Student: I
realize that my education is important. I know that I am responsible for my own
success. Therefore, I agree to carry out the following responsibilities to the
best of my ability:
