Matthew R. O'Neil

Mr. O’Neil is the second assistant marching band director and head percussion instructor in the North Allegheny School District.  He earned a Bachelor of Music Education, Percussion Applied at Slippery Rock University in Slippery Rock, Pennsylvania. While there, he studied percussion with Dr. David Glover.  Prior to his position at North Allegheny, Mr. O’Neil has served on the percussion staff of several other marching band and percussion programs including the Deer Lakes School District, Neshannok School District, West Allegheny School District, and Mars Area School District.  Outside of marching band at North Allegheny, Mr. O’Neil’s duties include directing the concert percussion ensemble and the competitive winter percussion program.  He also assists Mr. Stephen Baldanzi with the 3^rd Jazz Ensemble.  Mr. O’Neil is an active member of PMEA, MENC, and the Percussive Arts Society.
