Are you looking for a chance to display your writing talent? NASH’s National English Honors Society is hosting its first ever writing contest! Submit an original, typed 500-750 word fiction short story to Mr. Prince in the library by March 7th. The topic of your story must be about Blizzards. There will be a winner in each grade level! Stories will be judged by teachers and student members of the North Allegheny National Honor Society.


6th Futsal Club will meet Thursday.


Choral Ensemble will meet this week, Wednesday 2/22, at 7:00 AM.  


Stage Crew will meet this week on Thursday during the activity period, and stay until 3:45, preparing lights, sound, stage, etc.  for the talent show.


HOOPS for HEART will be Monday after school for 6th grade.  Try to turn in your American Heart Association to Mr. Roman during AM homeroom today if you have not already done so.  It will be completed at 4:30.  Please plan your ride in advance.


8th grade Hoops for Heart Tournament will be completed tomorrow (Tuesday) during activity period.

• DO NOT WASH the t-shirts—Glitter takes time to dry, and we want to make sure it does not fall off in the wash!
• Please  come to school on Friday wearing your “GOLD” T-shirts and following the dress code. You will be dismissed at 2:05 to the cafeteria Foyer for a picture, and then board the busses to NAI.
• Please remember to get picked up at 10:30 pm at NAI.

Attention all NAL participants; you should report to the cafeteria at 9:00 today to leave for the regional finals.


The Pasta for Pennies fundraising drive for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society is in full swing and all of the Homeroom amounts have been posted on the Cafeteria bulletin board!  You can see where your class falls in the ranks of raising funds to help LLS create a world without blood cancers.  You still can get on board and help those in need while also earning a delicious Olive Garden lunch for your homeroom!  We will collect from each room again on Friday with the final collection on Tuesday, February 28th.  All homeroom collection boxes entering in the decoration contest will be judged on the final day of collection as well.  Have fun, raise funds, help others, and earn a fabulous pasta lunch!

Media Arts Club will not meet today and next Thursday. Meetings will resume on Thursday, March 9. If you are a member of Media Arts Club preparing a video for a Talent Show performance, it will need to be completed on your own time and submitted to Mr. Bockoven no later than Monday, February 27. Please see Mr. Bockoven with any questions or concerns.


Attention Lego Club members, the Lego Club will be meeting during Activity Period in the Makerspace. Make sure to bring your Mini figs.

Attention 8th grade students:  


  1. The elective transition fair is this evening at NAI at 6PM.  

  2. You must pick up an application in the counseling office if you plan to take leadership or yearbook next year.

  3. If interested in ROTC, there is information available in the Counseling Office explaining the program in greater detail.  


Congratulations go out to the MMS NAL team who wrapped up the regional championship yesterday with convincing victories over West Allegheny and Ingomar.  It was yet another all around great team effort. MMS  will now advance to the first round of the national tournament starting next week.
