And now for our “Thought of the Day”:

Have you ever needed to finish a job or a project, but you keep putting it off and putting it off?  That nagging voice in the back of your mind keeps saying, “I really should be finishing that project.”  Days go by and then you start to feel guilty and you get tired just thinking about it.  William James, a great American author said:

Nothing is so fatiguing as the eternal hanging on of an uncompleted task.

Today, do yourself a favor.  If there is a task that you need to complete…just do it!

Everyone has times when he or she struggles to understand something.  Struggle seems to be a part of life.  There is a good side to every struggle.  Frederick Douglas said:

If there is no struggle, there is no progress.

In other words, a struggle is an opportunity to move forward in life, to break through a barrier, to turn a stumbling block into a steppingstone. If you’re struggling with something, remember, you don’t have to struggle alone.  Your parents, teachers and counselors, and other adults want to help.

Physicist Marie Curie was a gifted scientist.  Together with her husband, Pierre, she made important discoveries that laid the groundwork for modern nuclear physics.  In fact, Marie Curie was the first female ever to receive the Nobel Prize.  She said:

We must have perseverance and, above all, confidence in ourselves.  We must believe we are gifted for something.

And now for our “Thought of the Day” :

Did you know that more than one million American soldiers have given their lives in service to our nation?  One million fallen soldiers is an amazing number to think about.  Each one of those one million was the son or daughter, mother or father, aunt or uncle, to someone left behind, someone who loved them very much.
This coming Monday is Memorial Day.  Schools, businesses, and government offices will be closed in honor of these fallen soldiers.  Between now and Monday, take a few moments to remember the men and women who gave their lives for our country.  How has their sacrifice made a difference in our lives?

When times are hard, know your mind can take you anywhere
