The North Allegheny School District (NASD) announces that Dr. Patricia P. Green, Superintendent of Schools, will host a Newcomers’ Coffee at the District’s Central Administration Offices, 200 Hillvue Lane, McCandless Township, on Wednesday, September 9, 2009 at 9:15 a.m.
The Coffee is designed to introduce parents with children who are new to the District to programs, processes, and key personnel. A question and answer session will conclude the two hour meeting.
Any North Allegheny School District resident who may be interested in this presentation is welcome to attend.

The North Allegheny School District (NASD) announces that students who will attend North Allegheny Senior High (NASH) this fall and plan to drive to school, can purchase parking permits at North Allegheny Senior High School, 10375 Perry Highway, Wexford, during the following dates and times:
Seniors
August 14 – 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
August 17 – 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
August 18 – 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Juniors
August 19 – 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.August 20 – 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
August 21 – 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Juniors & Seniors
August 24 – 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
August 25 – 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
August 26 – 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
NOTE: Students may switch weeks due to an emergency situation.
In order to register, students must be accompanied by a parent or guardian when applying for a permit. Students must submit proof of his/her driver’s license and owner’s card for each vehicle to be registered. Applications will not be processed unless both the parent/guardian and the student appear in person to complete the necessary documentation. Total cost is $45.00, payable by cash or a check to NASH. The student’s social security number will be required to complete a “Request for Driver Information” form. North Allegheny Senior High School will file this form in order to obtain information concerning any traffic violations within the last three years. NA School Board to Meet Twice in August
The North Allegheny School District (NASD) announces that the Board of School Directors will meet twice in August.
The Board will hold a Special Meeting/Work Session on Wednesday, August 19, 2009, in the Board Room of the Central Administration Offices, 200 Hillvue Lane, McCandless Township, beginning at 7:00 p.m.
The School Board’s Regular Meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, August 26, 2009, and will also be held in the Board Room of the Central Administration Offices, 200 Hillvue Lane, McCandless Township, beginning at 7:00 p.m.
The public is invited to attend all meetings.

North Allegheny School District is the largest suburban school district in Allegheny County. It is located approximately twelve miles north of Pittsburgh and serves the municipalities of Bradford Woods Borough, Franklin Park Borough, Marshall Township and the Town of McCandless – a total of 48 square miles. Much of the District is suburban-residential. New housing developments and transferees moving into the area help maintain a steady enrollment. In 2008-2009, the total enrollment was 8,081 students in twelve schools.
